# MCP

Salus is MCP-native: your AI coding tools connect to the platform through the **Salus MCP server**, so assistants like Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and Claude Desktop can work with your projects, deployments, logs, and databases on your behalf. The server ships inside the Salus CLI — a single binary, `salus`.

## What your assistant can do

Once connected, your assistant can act on the platform concepts you already know: [projects](https://salus.cloud/docs/getting-started/projects/), [deployments](https://salus.cloud/docs/deployments/deployments/), [logs](https://salus.cloud/docs/observability/logs/), and [databases](https://salus.cloud/docs/deployments/databases/).

You choose how much access it has, from **Read-only** through **Standard**, **Operator**, and **Full** — or a custom selection. Start restrictive and widen access only as you need it, especially for tools that can change or deploy your applications.

Note

The MCP server is how the CLI connects your editor to Salus — it isn’t a replacement for [Salus Intelligence](https://salus.cloud/docs/salus-intelligence/), the AI layer built into the platform itself.

If you download a binary directly, rename it to `salus` and make it executable. Configuration for Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor and OpenCode is in [Deploy with an AI coding agent](https://salus.cloud/docs/guides/deploy-with-an-ai-agent/); the MCP registry entry (`server.json`) is on the [Developers page](https://salus.cloud/developers/).
